Job summary

Aversan is seeking a Network Security Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure network environments for globally distributed networks operating 24x7. The role includes mentoring IT and network teams, aligning security standards with business strategy, and collaborating with other domain architects in a hybrid Montreal office.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of network security experience, CISSP/SANS GIAC, and cloud networking expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field or an associate degree with equivalent professional experience and certifications.
• SANS GIAC and CISSP certifications required or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of network security experience
• Proven experience with firewall platforms, IDS/IPS, secure routing, VPN, OT, cloud and zero-trust networking
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Design, establish, and implement enterprise-class network security solutions for 24x7 globally distributed networks.
• Architect audio‑video enterprise environments and ensure the supporting network supports optimal performance.
• Align network security standards with business strategy and technology frameworks.
• Identify threats and design components to detect, deter, and respond to them.
• Assess security gaps in network designs and propose enhancements and remediation plans.
• Act as SME for network security incidents and guide investigations and post-mortem actions.
• Mentor IT and network teams on secure design, implementation, and operations.
• Collaborate with other domain architects to ensure end-to-end security across the enterprise.

We are currently seeking a qualified Network Security Architect to join our team. As a Network Security Architect, you will design, implement, and maintain secure network environments for globally distributed networks operating 24x7. You will also mentor IT and network teams, collaborate with other domain architects, and align network security standards with business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, establish, and implement enterprise-class network security solutions for globally distributed network environments operating 24x7.
• Design reliable, high-quality audio-video enterprise systems and architect the supporting network environment to support optimal performance.
• Align network security standards with business strategy and technology frameworks.
• Identify current and emerging threats; design architecture components to detect, deter, and respond to those threats.
• Assess existing and proposed network designs for security gaps; recommend enhancements and remediation plans.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for network security incidents; guide investigations and suggest post-mortem actions.
• Mentor IT and network teams on secure network design, implementation, and operations.
• Collaborate with architects of other domains to ensure integrated, end-to-end security across the enterprise.

Basic Qualifications

• SANS GIAC Certification.
• Cloud networking experience.
• Expertise in Operational Technologies (preferred).
• CISSP certification.
• One or more network-focused certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CCIE Security, SANS GIAC).
• Minimum 5 years of network security experience.
• Proven experience with firewall platforms, next-generation intrusion detection/prevention systems, secure routing, VPN, OT, cloud and zero-trust networking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or an associate degree with equivalent professional experience and certifications.
• Fluent in both spoken and written French and English.
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols, routing, switching, and secure network design.
• Experience designing integration between IT infrastructure and OT systems.
• Proficiency with firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure web gateways, and network traffic analysis tools.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM integration, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and network anomaly detection.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
• Experience designing audio‑video enterprise environments.
• Understanding of CMMC and other relevant security frameworks as they apply to network security.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non‑technical stakeholders; strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven track record leading cross‑functional security projects and building high‑performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with network architectures.

Compensation: $90,000 – $130,000 CAD (annual salary)
