Network Engineer (LAN, Security & Wireless Infrastructure)

Purpose

The Network Engineer (NE) is a key member of Centrilogic’s international technology team, responsible for supporting our customers and internal users. The goal is to ensure 24x7 service availability by proactively addressing hardware failures, connectivity issues, and security vulnerabilities.

The NE supports, secures, troubleshoots, and optimizes LAN, WLAN, NAC, routing, switching, and firewall infrastructures across client and internal environments, with a focus on Aruba LAN switching, wireless access points, Aruba Central, and ClearPass. The role also involves managing firewall security (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco) and routing/switching (Cisco, Juniper).

The NE handles escalated tickets, deployment projects, system upgrades, network design, documentation, and process improvements. Participation in an on-call rotation for 24x7 support is required. The position reports to the Manager, Network Service Delivery, and is a hybrid role supporting GTA locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Aruba LAN switching and wireless environments, including Aruba Central management.
2. Administer and optimize ClearPass for network access control.
3. Manage firewall infrastructure (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco).
4. Support routing and switching environments with Cisco and Juniper devices.
5. Perform proactive network monitoring and capacity planning.
6. Implement security best practices across network infrastructure.
7. Coordinate network changes with minimal disruption, following Change Management procedures.
8. Maintain detailed network documentation and knowledge base articles.
9. Participate in 24x7 on-call support for critical incidents and deployments.
10. Support outside regular hours as needed.
11. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

Required Experience and Skills

• Degree or diploma in Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing medium to large-scale networks.
• Expertise in Aruba switching, wireless, and ClearPass.
• Experience with Aruba Central and cloud management.
• Solid background in firewall security (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Cisco).
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.).
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching platforms.
• Packet-level troubleshooting skills (Wireshark, etc.).
• Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
