Network Engineer II

(Network, Telecom and Data Center Operation)

As a network engineer II you’ll be responsible for implementing, updating, and maintaining networks to ensure high performance and reliability, while supporting key initiatives to upgrade and scale our network environment. You will work to streamline existing network processes and transition our environment to a more observable and automated framework to automate workflows and enhance network efficiency.

In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:

• Participate in the development and deployment of network automation tools and solutions, reduce manual intervention, increase operational efficiency, and ensure faster issue resolution.
• Play a key role in improving our network monitoring practices by developing dashboards and alerting systems
• Manage daily network tasks, including firewall requests, routing, and switch management to ensure network reliability
• Regularly apply updates and patches to network devices, ensuring they meet security standards
• Partner with providers and internal teams to deliver key network upgrades and enhancements
• Work closely with the Incident and Problem Management teams to resolve network issues and prevent future incidents
• Contribute to development of multi-year networking strategy and roadmap
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years experience supporting network infrastructure in medium to large enterprise
• 4+ years experience with tools including Python, Ansible, GitHub, and(or) Terraform
• 5+ years experience with firewall and security technologies (e.g. IPSEC, GRE, UTM, IDS, and JPS)
• 4+ years experience with routing and protocols (e.g. BGF, OSPF, VPC, VSS, STP Stacking, MPLS, and Load Balancing)
• 2+ year experience creating dashboards in SolarWinds and(or) Dynatrace
• Experience with products including Fortinet, Cisco, F5, Infoblox and Azure
