We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Application Engineer to design, develop, implement, and maintain technical solutions supporting legacy .NET applications across Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and cloud/OpenShift environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with the .NET technology stack, C#, Windows-hosted applications, OpenShift, application security, APIs, and legacy application modernization. This role will focus on improving application stability, reducing technical debt, enhancing automation, and supporting ongoing modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain .NET applications and application components across Windows and cloud/OpenShift environments.
- Support and enhance legacy .NET applications, including desktop application components.
- Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, improve application performance, and increase automation.
- Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Refactor legacy code and implement appropriate technical improvements.
- Address application vulnerabilities and support security remediation activities.
- Implement and maintain authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Work with OAuth, Active Directory, application certificates, and related security technologies.
- Develop and support integrations using HTTP, REST, SOAP, and other web services.
- Work with XML structures and data layouts to facilitate data movement between platforms.
- Document application updates, technical changes, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Agile squads, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
- Participate in technical planning, prioritization, development, testing, and production support.
- Work with teams and stakeholders across Canada and globally.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with the .NET technology stack.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, or ASP.NET.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining applications across Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
- Experience supporting cloud/OpenShift-hosted applications.
- Strong understanding of OAuth, Active Directory, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience working with application certificates and security‑related configurations.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP, REST, and SOAP protocols.
- Experience working with XML structures and data layouts.
- Proven experience troubleshooting complex application issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience with legacy code refactoring and application modernization.
- Experience identifying and remediating application vulnerabilities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
