Job summary

The Government of Alberta seeks an Intermediate .NET Application Developer / Systems Analyst to support the BRlK program in Edmonton. You will develop and maintain applications using C#, Visual Studio, and MS SQL Server, while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams.

The role emphasizes requirements gathering, design, testing, and ongoing support. Familiarity with Oil Sands regulations is a bonus and a hybrid work arrangement is in place in Edmonton.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Application Developer in a large enterprise IT environment using .NET, Visual Studio, and source control.
• 5+ years of experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, stored procedures, data modelling, and reporting services.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience using C# and Visual Studio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using C# and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Perform application programming, system analysis, maintenance, and enhancements.
• Design, develop, and implement MS SQL Server databases.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from end-users.
• Prepare technical designs, system documentation, and application manuals.
• Conduct unit, system, and integration testing.
• Support application testing, troubleshooting, and remediation.
• Identify root causes of technical issues and recommend solutions.
• Work with development teams to ensure compliance with application architecture.
• Participate in application releases and deployment coordination.
• Review technical designs and recommend performance improvements.
• Ensure application changes are properly developed, tested, and implemented.
• Support application lifecycle planning and release management.
