Job summary

Lengkeek Vessel Engineering Inc. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Naval Architect Engineer or Technologist for full-time work.

You will contribute to small craft and commercial vessel design, develop technical data packages, and perform hull modelling, inclining tests, and stability calculations. Candidates should hold a Canadian naval architecture degree or technology diploma, have experience in structural design and drafting, and know Canadian regulations and classification society

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in Naval Architecture from an accredited Canadian university or college.
  • Experience with structural design and drafting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulations and classification society rules.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies in Canada and with classification societies.
  • Proficient in English, written and verbal.
  • Eligible for government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical data packages, including drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Modeling and hull development.
  • Conduct inclining experiments, structural and stability analyses and power/speed calculations.
  • Participate in industry events and marketing opportunities.

Lengkeek Vessel Engineering Inc. (LVE) is seeking a Naval Architect Engineer or Technologist for full-time employment at our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office.

  • Owner’s representation & project management for projects of all sizes
  • Fleet support for ferry operations, Canadian Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy

What should you expect?

As a Naval Architect or Technologist at LVE you’ll enjoy:

  • A mix of office work and site work;
  • Projects ranging from large turnkey design projects to small modification projects;
  • Working as part of a collaborative team on larger projects and working individually when managing your own projects;
  • Developing technical data packages, including drawings, specifications and reports;
  • modelling and hull development;
  • Conducting inclining experiments, structural and stability analyses and power /speed calculations;
  • Participating in industry events and marketing opportunities.
Who are we looking to add to our team?

The ideal candidate shall

  • Posses a bachelor’s degree or technology diploma in Naval Architecture from an accredited Canadian university or college;
  • have experience with structural design and drafting;
  • have knowledge of Canadian regulations and classification society rules
  • have experience working with regulatory bodies in Canada as well as classification societies;
  • be proficient in English, both written and verbal;
  • be eligible for government security clearance;

The following qualifications will be considered assets:

  • 3+ years of work experience in marine design;
  • proficiency in GHS & Rhino
  • professional Finite Element Analysis experience (FEMAP preferred);
  • proficiency in Canadian French.
