Job summary

Cathedral Energy Services in Calgary is seeking a MWD MMR Technician to service, repair and manufacture MWD equipment, supporting Canadian operations with technical expertise.

You will troubleshoot field tool failures, perform testing, and assist with prototype assembly, documentation, and lab work while adhering to quality management and safety standards. This role requires hands-on electronics and downhole maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Familiar with EM and AEP circuitry and downhole assembly/maintenance.
• Diploma/technical certificate in petroleum, electronics, or computing.
• 2 years MWD tool maintenance experience.
• 2 years electronics measurement & test experience.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair of all AEP equipment (surface and downhole).
• Second Contact for service, maintenance and repair of all other product lines.
• Assist TIG with prototype assembly, testing, and documentation.
• Assemble and test new manufacturing work orders.
• Keep track of all manufacturing work orders staged in the lab.
• Implement and document new tool testing procedures to improve performance and aid tracking.
• Act as a technical resource for field personnel inquiries on tool performance and aid tracking.
• Purchasing liaison between shop and inventory specialist to ensure adequate supply of needed parts.
• Learn EM/Electronics maintenance processes and procedures.
• Knowledge to promote and apply the established Quality Management System within his/her scope of work.
• Promote environmental awareness and conservation of natural resources, as well as oversee proper classification and disposal of solid and dangerous materials.
