Job summary

Mercor is hiring experienced musicians to evaluate generative musical AI models in partnership with a leading AI lab. You will assess model outputs across different categories of music in your bilingual language.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in music production/audio engineering, college degree in music, and bilingual proficiency in French and English, with start date immediate and part-time 10+ hours per week for up to 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a music producer, audio engineer, and/or sound mixer for at least 3+ years.
• Evidence of understanding musical performance, theory, and lyrics
• College degree in music, involving both performance, theory, and lyrics
• Past experience writing lyrical music in the domain language listed in the title
• Native or near-native proficiency in both French and English

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI model output lyrics, voice generation, and other standards
• Score quality of musical training data
• Experience writing music in the domain language listed in the title
• Able to understand directions in English language
• Rate AI-generated music samples head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality, using audio-engineering terminology
• Annotate songs in detail: genre/sub-genre classification, song structure, vocal/instrumental characteristics via a structured taxonomy
