Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Murex Expert to join the Capital Markets IT Delivery team. You will collaborate with business and technology partners to apply Murex expertise to complex challenges, contributing to the evolution of services and the growth of National Bank.

The role involves owning analysis, solution design, testing, and deployment discussions, with emphasis on scalability, production stability, and continuous improvement in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the Murex Front-to-Back platform inCapital Markets.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives and security cash products.
  • Proficiency in MxML and trade lifecycle management.
  • Proficient in SQL and UNIX environments.

Responsibilities

  • Listen to and understand business partners’ needs.
  • Analyze impacts, develop solutions, and integrate them into the ecosystem.
  • Test and implement robust solutions without impacting production stability.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable and minimize technical debt.

Your job
  • Listen to and understand our business partners’ needs.
  • Analyze impacts, develop solutions, and integrate them effectively into the existing ecosystem.
  • Test and implement robust solutions without compromising production stability or performance
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, minimize technical debt, and align with established architectural principles.
  • Contribute to the evolution of services and functional solutions within the business environment by actively participating in Murex deliveries and collaborating with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Make decisions and recommendations that improve business partners’ processes and operational efficiency.
  • Follow and contribute to the evolution of team processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Recommend and influence deployment strategies that account for production constraints and business processes.
  • Actively contribute to developing the team’s skills and strengthening Murex expertise.
  • Proactively identify and elevate risks and issues, along with appropriate mitigation plans and solutions.
  • Raise, discuss, and validate technical or functional points with the Murex vendor when required.

Your profile
  • Industry-related bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience or industry-related master's degree and 5 years of experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the Murex Front-to-Back platform
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets, including derivatives, and security cash products
  • Strong expertise in trade booking, trade lifecycle management, and MxML is required.
  • Experience with regulatory trade reporting requirements, including CFTC, CSA, and other relevant regulations, is a strong asset.
  • SQL and UNIX knowledge
  • Good understanding of Agile principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Ability and willingness to work in an environment that strongly promotes autonomy, ownership, and resourcefulness.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset, with the motivation to contribute to a high-performing, dynamic, and collaborative team.
