Job summary

The City of Dieppe seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist to support municipal infrastructure projects. Reporting to the director of technical services, you will assist in planning, design and execution of maintenance, renovation and construction work on roads, water, sewer and related systems.

You will prepare plans and specifications, use AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS and GPS tools, supervise field work, prepare reports and tender documents, and ensure compliance with plans, standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• College diploma in civil engineering technology or related discipline.
• Professional Technologist (PTech) designation.
• Five years experience in municipal engineering.
• Bilingual French and English essential.
• Class 5 driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS and GPS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and design technical plans and specifications.
• Design, analyze, revise plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Supervise and inspect municipal road, water, sewer projects.
• Prepare tender documents and analyze bids.
• Report progress and final results; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with utilities, contractors and departments.
