Job summary

The Town of Aurora is seeking a Financial Reporting and Capital Asset Advisor to support financial statements, asset management reporting, and automation of financial processes. The role collaborates with the Asset Management team to align financial and service objectives and improve reporting through dashboards.

The successful candidate will have CPA or equivalent Masters, 5+ years in municipal or financial accounting, and experience in developing financial reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or a Masters in Business, Economics, Public Policy or Mathematics, or equivalent.
• Five+ years of experience in financial accounting preparing financial statements (municipal experience preferred).
• Two+ years in systems implementation, process improvement, and project reporting including dashboards/reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the preparation and ensures the accuracy of the Town's financial statements, notes, TCA reporting and financial reports for programs requiring separate audit opinions per PSAB.
• Collaborates with Asset Management to align financial objectives with asset management levels of service and maturity.
• Streamlines financial processes to ensure integrity and compliance with PSAS and legislation.
• Designs and implements system reports and dashboards to improve financial management and client experience.
