Job Description:

Parsons has an open position for a Municipal Engineer to work with the team in the preparation of complex municipal servicing, grading, and drainage design, engineering layouts, and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical knowledge. This position is located in our Ottawa Office (Hybrid).

Experience working on municipal infrastructure design and construction projects is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards, codes, company policies, and procedures. Utilize advanced software to complete assignments.
• Produce conceptual and detailed drawings of municipal infrastructure, including roads, underground linear infrastructure, water facilities, sanitary sewers, stormwater drainage systems, grading, culverts, land/site developments, and upgrades.
• Collaborate closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. Develop alternate design layouts as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety factors, tolerances, and specifications. Review supplier data and drawings.
• Check orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
• Perform checking procedures as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers in preparing construction contract tenders, including quantities and specifications.
• Assist with utility coordination, conflict identification, and utility relocation.
• Support training of lower-level Designers.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu 2019, Microstation, and Civil 3D for design work.

Requirements:

• P.Eng. in good standing with PEO and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience in designing municipal servicing (water and sanitary) and stormwater management infrastructure related to road renewal and site redevelopment projects.
• Bilingual English/French is preferred but not required.
