Job Description:

Parsons has an opening for a Municipal Engineer to work with our team in preparing complex municipal servicing, grading, and drainage design, engineering layouts, and drawings, utilizing theoretical and practical knowledge. This position is based in our Ottawa Office (Hybrid).

Experience in municipal infrastructure design and construction projects is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret and ensure conformance to standards, codes, policies, and procedures. Use advanced software to complete assignments.
2. Produce conceptual and detailed drawings for municipal infrastructure including roads, underground linear infrastructure (water facilities, sanitary sewers, stormwater drainage), grading, culverts, land development, and upgrades.
3. Coordinate with Engineers and disciplines to ensure design integration and develop alternate layouts as needed.
4. Ensure compliance with safety factors, tolerances, and specifications; review supplier data and drawings.
5. Review orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
6. Perform discipline-specific checking procedures.
7. Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with tender preparation, quantities, specifications, and utility coordination.
8. Support training of junior Designers.
9. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu 2019, Microstation, and Civil 3D for design tasks.

Requirements:

1. P.Eng. in good standing with PEO and 10+ years of experience.
2. Experience in municipal water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure design related to road renewal and site redevelopment projects.
3. Bilingual English/French is preferred but not required.
