Job summary

The Town of Slave Lake is seeking an energetic Multi-Rec Centre Parks Operator to provide and maintain high-quality recreation facilities and parks. The role may require working days, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.

Essential duties include customer service, facility operation, maintenance of parks, and adherence to safety policies. Successful candidates will be able to perform physically demanding tasks and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain before start date.
• Willingness to be trained to operate ice resurfacing equipment and small equipment safely and efficiently.
• Valid Alberta Class Five Driver's License.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• Experience in a recreation facility or arena is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain MRC and parks to industry/legislation standards.

The Town of Slave Lake is looking for an energetic and responsible individual to join our team as a Multi-Rec Centre Parks Operatorto provide and maintain high-quality recreation and leisure facilities and parks. This role may require working days, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.

EMPLOYEES THAT REPORT DIRECTLY TO THIS POSITION:

None

SALARY:

$26.89 - $33.91 per hour/ 37.5 hours per week

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide excellent customer service by using good public relations skills.
• Foster good relations with other staff, management, and the public.
• Operate ice surface equipment and cleaning equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain MRC and all parks/green space to industry and/or legislated standards.
• Operate all the appropriate MRC/Parks equipment and perform related duties in accordance with the manufacturer's operator manuals, Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Town safety policies.
• Perform janitorial duties as required.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in accordance with the owner/operator manuals.
• Perform related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Current First Aid/CPR, or ability to attain it prior to employment commencing.
• Ability/willingness to be trained to operate ice surfacing equipment and small equipment safely and efficiently.
• Valid Class Five (5) Alberta Driver's License or equivalent.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
• Experience working in a recreation facility or arena is considered an asset.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
• Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather.
• Must be physically fit.
• Good verbal communication and public relations skills
• Ability to work independently.
