eBay is building eBay Live, a live shopping platform, and is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to develop and evolve the service.

What You’ll Do

• Translate requirements into software design and write clean, efficient, extensible, and maintainable code.
• Apply evidence‑centered design to make features testable and maintain high quality through continuous delivery.
• Manage project features, break them into sub‑tasks, and identify and resolve issues for efficient execution.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and coach teammates.
• Identify gaps across systems, propose solutions, build engineering roadmaps, and drive resolution.
• Lead end‑to‑end testing quality improvements to increase delivery velocity.
• Own release, on‑call support, and operations for a 24/7 live site.
• Take full responsibility for the software lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, observability, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to develop innovative solutions that align with development goals and principles.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: C$142,400 – C$190,100, adjusted for location, skills, and experience.
