Job summary

eBay in Toronto is seeking a Software Engineer to build user-facing applications and APIs. The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA in Computer Science and hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and other relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, scalable user‑facing applications and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Develop web technologies and services (e.g., Java/NodeJS/C++) along with browser technologies (Marko, React, JavaScript, HTML).
• Mentor junior team members and ensure they adhere to established software quality standards.
• Develop technical and domain expertise and apply it to solving product challenges.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Computer Science.
• Experience with Node.js, JavaScript, Java, Scala, and Oracle/NoSQL databases.
• Experience building web and RESTful applications.
• Experience working with frameworks such as Spring MVC.
• Knowledge of core CS concepts, including common data structures and algorithms.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: C$142,400 - C$190,100.

Base pay may vary depending on location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, paid time off, PTO, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
