PBC Solutions is looking for a MSP Document Processing Clerk Level 1 on a Temporary Assignment (TA) for a period of up to 6 months!

Please note: PBC Solutions is Headquartered in Saanichton, BC (a suburb of Victoria). We operate in a hybrid in-person and virtual environment and the successful candidate is expected to have regular presence at the office.

Since the spring of 2023, PBC Solutions administers and leads the transformation and digitization of Health Insurance BC Services (HIBC) on behalf of the BC Ministry of Health. HIBC Services administers medically-necessary insured doctor and hospital services through the Medical Services Plan (MSP) and drug coverage through the PharmaCare and Fair PharmaCare programs. In the future, the business will expand to additional public and private client work.

Position Summary: The position reviews and processes routine applications and other documents related to enrolment in Medical Services Plan (MSP) by validating information and entering it into the enrolment system. May be required to handle out-bound beneficiary calls.

This position is designated as a Grid level 9, with an hourly range of $28.73 - $32.62.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Processes documents provided by the public for enrolment into the MSP by validating information through imaging software and other resources and either rejecting or accepting based on established criteria; updates enrolment systems accordingly.
  • Corresponds with the public to explain policy decisions and to seek or provide information; releases personal information to 3rd party requesters as appropriate.
  • Resolves issues escalated from other departments (Call Tickets).
  • Participates in additional projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Provides intermittent peer to peer mentorship/training as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; may be subject to standardized testing.
  • One year’s experience in a data entry environment.
  • Proven experience analyzing and processing data utilizing a high-level of attention to detail.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Medical Services Plan policies and procedures.
  • Basic understanding of privacy and security related to personal information.

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills in a Windows environment including MS Office Suite; ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Detailed oriented and comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, production and goal driven environment.
