Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking an MRO Receiver to support the Maintenance Department by receiving parts, managing inventory, and controlling systems to sustain efficient plant operations at our Winnipeg site.

The role involves high-volume data entry in SAP, labeling parts, coordinating with accounts payable, and generating monthly inventory reports while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP inventory modules.
  • Experience in stores management or warehousing.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of maintenance materials and consumables.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of purchasing practices.
  • Knowledge of food processing and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inventory into SAP system.
  • Label incoming parts with material numbers and bin locations.
  • Create domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reports and follow up on parts issues.
  • Maintain stock room organization.
  • Coordinate with AP on invoices and purchase orders.
  • Track warranty issues with suppliers.
  • Daily inventory management and cycle counts.
  • Update SAP daily and maintain data accuracy.
  • Provide guidance on packing slips, inventory plans, and training for tradespeople.

The Opportunity

The MRO receiver is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department through the receiving of maintenance parts, and the management of inventory and control systems to support efficient plant operations.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life
  • Receive inventory into SAP system
  • Label incoming parts with material numbers and bin locations
  • Create domestic and international shipments
  • Prepare monthly inventory report and follow up on parts issues
  • Maintain stock room clean and organized
  • Follow up on receiving, and delegate parts to work orders or stock c/w packing slips
  • Coordinate with AP on questions regarding invoices and purchase orders
  • Track warranty issues with suppliers
  • Daily inventory management
  • Identification of obsolete and slow-moving inventory
  • Control inventory levels at benchmark levels
  • Regular cycle counts
  • Coordinate parts unpacking and provide written guidance on packing slips to tradespeople, inventory plans, and follow up training/guidance for tradespeople on key operational issues
  • Provide monthly reports on inventory value
  • High volume data entry
  • Daily updating of SAP
  • Understands and practices H&S and Foods Safety policies and regulations
What You’ll Bring
  • Shipping and receiving experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems
  • Experience in stores management
  • Strong computer and problem solving and analysis process skills including Excel and Word knowledge
  • Knowledge of maintenance materials, chemicals, and consumables
  • The ability to multitask in a faced-faced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of purchasing practices
  • Good understanding of food processing and regulatory requirements
  • Educational background in purchasing and/or inventory management
