Job summary

Prenuvo in Vancouver, BC is seeking a per-diem MRI Technologist to support expanded operating hours across our clinics. The role includes operating MRI scanners, ensuring patient safety, and performing high-quality Prenuvo scans at our Vancouver site and, as needed, North Vancouver.

The position offers flexible scheduling including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, with no visa sponsorship required. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of MRI experience, completion of an accredited MRI program,

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program or radiologic technology program.
  • Licensed with the appropriate board: ARMRIT or ARRT (MR) (or equivalent) depending on location.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

  • Operate MRI Scanner: ensure patient safety and high-quality Prenuvo scans, follow Prenuvo protocols.
  • Order supplies, clean equipment, and prep scan room.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and report to the relevant department.
  • Utilize ancillary tools and software systems (PACS, DICOM).
  • Image post-processing and transfer of images to PACS; complete all post-processing steps.
  • Lead and train new technologists on safety, room prep, communication, and post-processing.

Our award-winning whole body scan is fast (under 1 hour), safe (MRI has no ionizing radiation), and non-invasive (no contrast). Our unique integrated stack of optimized hardware, software, and increasingly AI, coupled with the patient-centric experience of our clinics across North America, have allowed us to lead the charge against "we caught it too late again."

We are looking for an per-diem MRI Technologist to join us at our Vancouver, BC clinic! Our clinics are open up to seven (7) days a week, and the role may require a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. As this is a fully on-site position with a home base in the Vancouver clinic. The ideal candidate will be within 45 minutes commuting distance to the Vancouver clinic located at 39 Nelson St. Additionally, as needed, the MRI Technologist will need to cover shifts at the North Vancouver site located at 123 13th street E North Vancouver.

This is a per diem position with no guaranteed hours per week and it is not benefits eligible. We intend on using this role to meet expanded operating hours and to provide coverage for our staff who may be sick or on vacation.

This role does not provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of hire and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa (current or future).

What You'll Do
  • Operation of MRI Scanner: you are responsible for patient safety, the performance of high quality Prenuvo Scans, performing and remaining current on Prenuvo Scan protocols
  • Ordering supplies, cleaning equipment, and scan room preparation
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and reporting them to the relevant department when necessary
  • Utilize ancillary tools and equipment appropriately: PACS and other software systems
  • Image Post Processing: responsible for post processing images including transfer of images to PACS, ensuring all post processing steps are complete
  • Leadership: proven ability and interest in training new technologists in all facets of the role including patient safety, room preparation, effective communication, image acquisition, time management and post processing
What You'll Bring
  • A strong base knowledge of MRI imaging and patient safety
  • Licensed with the appropriate board: ARMRIT or ARRT (MR) (or equivalent) depending on the location of the role you are applying for
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Completion of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program or radiologic technology program
  • Clinical work experience of at least 2 years
  • You can understand, perform and accurately complete all examinations on MRI equipment, following clinic practices and procedure
  • Proficiency running advanced MR studies independently
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and the drive to thrive in a high-pressure, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate patient care skills with an ability to explain complex medical terms and procedures in a manner that is easily understood by a non-medical audience
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer focused attitude and presentation
  • Pride in your work with an ability to critically assess image quality
