Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to oversee daily MRI suite operations, instruct students, and lead in collaboration with radiologists and hospital staff. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality imaging, and staff coordination in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology.
• CAMRT MRI exam and certification.
• NSRMIRT licensure.
• Previous MRI experience preferred.
• Demonstrate competency in IV insertion.
• Ability to assess diagnostic results and differentiate artifacts from pathology in varied circumstances.
• Commitment to ongoing education on new equipment and procedures.
• Excellent patient care with effective communication.
• Strong computer skills for patient information systems.
• Adaptable team player with critical thinking.
• French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of designated MRI suites.
• Instruct students and direct staff in the MRI area.
• Apply safety rules for MRI environments to protect patients and staff.
• Perform imaging procedures and patient care duties as required.
• Coordinate with radiologists and hospital personnel under indirect supervision.
