Job summary

Nova Scotia Health in Sydney, NS is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to manage daily MRI suite operations, train students, and supervise staff under radiologist oversight.

Responsibilities include performing imaging procedures, ensuring safety, and maintaining patient care standards while updating knowledge on new equipment and procedures. This role requires strong independent decision-making and excellent communication, with French language skills considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology.
• CAMRT MRI exam and certification.
• Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure.
• Previous MRI experience preferred.
• Competency in IV insertion.
• Demonstrate independent decisions in evaluating diagnostic results and differentiating artifacts from normal or pathology.
• Commitment to update knowledge on new equipment and procedures.
• Excellence in patient care with courtesy and communication.
• French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of designated MRI suites.
• Instruct students and supervise staff in the MRI area.
• Comply with safety rules for MRI environments to protect staff and patients.
• Perform imaging procedures and patient care duties.
• Operate computer systems handling patient information.
