Job summary

Genie Senior Services is hiring skilled movers to join our relocation team and support seniors and their families. You’ll pack, move, and resettle homes with care, handling disassembly and reassembly, loading, and careful furniture placement to ensure a smooth, respectful experience for clients.

We value empathy, reliability, and teamwork as you work on-site with flexible part-time hours, including some weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lift and move items up to 75 lbs consistently, heavier items with team lift.
  • Wrap and pad furniture and secure loose items.
  • Disassemble/reassemble beds, tables, and basic electronics.
  • Load trailers with team guidance; ensure stability and protection.
  • Safely transport items through elevators, stairs, and tight spaces.
  • Unload and place furniture per floor plans or client instructions.
  • Maintain a positive, team-focused attitude and provide excellent customer service.

Position Overview:

We’re hiring skilled, dependable Movers to join our relocation team. You’ll work hands-on with senior clients and their families to pack, move, and resettle homes with care. You’ll handle everything from disassembly and truck loading to careful furniture placement and reassembly, all while ensuring a smooth and supportive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lift and move items up to 75 lbs consistently (heavier items as team lifts)
  • Wrap and pad furniture, secure loose items (e.g. lamps, plants, electronics)
  • Disassemble/reassemble beds, tables, and unmount/mount basic electronics like TVs
  • Load trailers with guidance from your team lead, ensuring items are stable and protected
  • Safely transport items through elevators, stairwells, tight corridors, and into new homes
  • Unload and place furniture based on floor plans or client instructions
  • Follow direction from team leads and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Provide excellent customer service and respectful interaction with seniors at all times
  • Work calmly and professionally in high-pressure or emotional environments
  • Stay on-site until the job is complete (some moves may run past scheduled hours)

Requirements
  • Clean criminal record check
  • Valid Class G driver’s license
  • First Aid certification is an asset
  • Previous moving experience is an asset but not required
  • Available for part-time work, including some weekends and overtime as needed

Wage: $20–$22/hour (based on experience)
