Job summary

Vail Resorts in Whistler is hiring for winter 2026/27, offering seasonal roles including cooks, drivers, instructors and more. Join our mountainside team to enjoy high compensation, free passes, ski and snowboard lessons, extensive employee discounts, and a strong training program designed to develop guest service excellence.

Positions run winter seasonal 2026/27 with both full-time and part-time shifts. Minimum age 18, housing available, fluent English required, and outdoor work in alpine

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Able to work extended hours outdoors in an alpine environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder; able to ride in all conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating the safest environment possible for guests and staff.
  • Enforce the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort policies with guests and employees.
  • Create and maintain safe and well-marked trails/terrain for guests.
  • Be available when Patrol Dispatch needs extra personnel for crowd management.
  • Ensure slow zones are well marked, monitored and guests educated on Slow Zone objectives.
  • Perform speed control duties in high traffic areas throughout the day.
  • Provide strong guest service to internal and external guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Always show up on time, in uniform, and adhere to grooming policy.

The mountain safety attendant works as our on-hill representation of safety and guest service. Promote safety within our amazing sport by providing quality feedback and communication to our guests. Enjoy the outdoors and be the friendly face of the resort on the mountain.

Job Specifications

  • Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
  • Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time hours available

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Able to work extended hours outdoors in an alpine environment in adverse weather conditions.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier/snowboarder and ability to ride in all conditions.
  • Ability to recognize inappropriate or reckless behaviour on the slopes.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Positive and friendly personality.

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
