Job summary

DENSO Manufacturing Canada is seeking a skilled Mould Maker for plastic injection tooling. Responsibilities include breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and modifications of moulds, with a strong emphasis on precision machining and tool design.

CAD/CAM planning and Mastercam proficiency are essential. Applicants should have a Licensed Mould Maker 431A and at least five years of journeyman experience, with ability to operate CNC machines and TIG weld non-ferrous metals.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mould Maker (431A)
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in mould making as a journeyman
  • Operate common tool room machinery and CNC machinery safely and productively
  • Operate CAD/CAM system and program CNC equipment
  • Provide technical knowledge/advise on mould repairs and execute them
  • Repair flash issues including root cause analysis and recurrence prevention
  • Proficient TIG welding including non-ferrous metals

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on plastic injection moulds; disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and re-assembly
  • Fabricate and re-establish mould inserts and tooling using milling, turning, grinding; CNC sinker EDM and CNC milling
  • Use Mastercam to analyze, program and run CNC equipment
  • Support production with emergency repairs
  • Perform flash repairs and engineering changes to moulds
  • Inspect new tooling for fit and function before mass production
  • Ensure safety and maintain shop cleanliness

Job description

DMCN Mould Maker - Tool & Die

Core Hours: 11:00pm - 7:30am


We offer a stimulating and challenging work environment that builds on the strengths of multiple cultures. As a Mould maker at DENSO Manufacturing, you are responsible for breakdowns, some preventative maintenance and modifications of plastic injection moulds. We are looking for highly skilled individuals who have full understanding of plastic injection moulds. Ideally, you have built tools from start to finish. Your machining knowledge needs to be excellent and precise.


Salary: $43.80 - $47.44 per hour


$6000.00 Sign On Bonus



  • $3000 Paid upon successful completion of a 3-month probation period

  • $3000 Paid after 1-year of employment


Roles And Responsibilities


  • Performs some preventive maintenance on plastic injection moulds including disassembly, cleaning, inspection for damage or wear, repair and re-assembly

  • Fabricate and re-establishes mould inserts, mould components, fixtures and other tooling using milling, turning, surface grinding, CNC sinker EDM and CNC milling machines

  • Utilizes CAD/CAM software (Mastercam) to analyze, program and run CNC equipment

  • Supports production with emergency repairs

  • Performs flash repair and other scheduled repairs including engineering changes to plastic injection moulds

  • Inspects new tooling and identifies fit and function issues before tooling enters mass production

  • Complies with all safety requirements and instructions

  • Maintains good housekeeping of shop, workspace and tools


Qualifications


  • Licensed Mould Maker (431A)

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in mould making as a journeyman

  • Must be able to operate all common tool room machinery and CNC machinery in a safe and productive manner

  • Must be able to operate CAD/CAM system and program CNC equipment

  • Must be able to provide technical knowledge/advise on mould repairs and be able to execute them

  • Must be able to repair flash issues including root cause analysis and reoccurrence prevention

  • Must possess good TIG Welding abilities including non ferrous metals
