DENSO Manufacturing Canada is seeking a skilled Mould Maker to perform breakdowns, maintenance, and mould modification with precision. You will build new moulds, interpret engineering drawings, and program CNC equipment to support production.

The role requires strong tooling experience and a proactive safety mindset. Qualified candidates have 3+ years in mould making, a 431A licence, and proficiency with CAD/CAM (Mastercam) and CNC milling/turning.

We are looking for highly skilled individuals who have full understanding of plastic injection moulds. Ideally, you have built tools. Your machining knowledge needs to be excellent and precise.

Salary: $43.80 - $47.44 per hour

Roles And Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on plastic injection moulds including disassembly, cleaning, inspection for damage or wear, repair and re-assembly
• Fabricate and re establishes mould inserts, mould components, fixtures and other tooling using milling, turning, surface grinding, welding, CNC sinker EDM and CNC milling machines
• Utilizes CAD/CAM software (Mastercam) to analyze, program and run CNC equipment
• Supports production with emergency repairs
• Performs flash repair and other scheduled repairs including engineering changes to plastic injection moulds
• Complies with all safety requirements and instructions
• Maintains good housekeeping of shop, workspace and tools

Qualifications

• Licensed Mould Maker (431A)
• Minimum two (3) years of experience in mould making as a journeyman
• Must be able to operate all common tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner
• Must be able to provide technical knowledge/advise on mould repairs and be able to execute them
• Must be able to repair flash issues including root cause analysis and reoccurrence prevention
• Able to operate CAD/CAM system and program CNC equipment is an asset
• TIG Welding abilities is an asset

Responsibilities

• Perform breakdown repairs on plastic injection moulds.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal mould performance.
• Modify existing moulds based on engineering change orders.
• Build new moulds from concept to final assembly.
• Interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Operate and program CNC machining equipment with high precision.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and quality checks.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve mould issues.
• Maintain tool room inventory and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in plastic injection mould making or tool & die.
• Proven ability to build moulds from start to finish.
• Strong machining skills, including CNC milling and turning.
• Excellent understanding of injection mould design and operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with precision measurement instruments (CMM, micrometers, etc.).
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• High school diploma or technical certification; post‑secondary training preferred.
