Job summary

Affirm, Inc. seeks a motion-forward Visual Designer to elevate motion, illustration, and storytelling across its product ecosystem.

You will shape in-app interactions, animated illustrations, icons, and patterns, partnering with Product Design, Brand, and Engineering to deliver cohesive experiences. The role requires strong craft, an understanding of design systems, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly through motion and visuals.

Qualifications

• A portfolio demonstrating strong motion and visual-design craft across digital product experiences.
• UX and product-design experience with understanding of user flows and information hierarchy.
• 3+ years of professional experience in motion, animation, visual, communication, or product design.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and production constraints (email and mobile).
• Mastery of tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, LottieFiles, and 2D/3D animation tools.
• Ability to storyboard, prototype, and articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong knowledge of animation principles: timing, pacing, easing, transitions, choreography.

Responsibilities

• Create animations, motion studies, animated illustrations, iconography, and interaction patterns.
• Own visual and motion-design projects from concept to production with high craft.
• Collaborate with Product Design, Design Systems, Product, Engineering, Brand, Content Design, Lifecycle, and Growth.
• Prepare production-ready assets and specifications for engineering deployment.
