Job summary

ATB Financial in Calgary seeks a Mortgage Specialist to grow the mortgage business across a territory and meet with clients, realtors, and builders to position ATB as the financial provider of choice in Alberta.

The role features a 100% commission plan with a stable salary for the first five months, plus a hybrid work arrangement and the support of one of Alberta’s largest financial institutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail lending.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products.
  • Results-oriented salesperson with a knack for negotiation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Proven ability to build & maintain robust networks in the mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Grow ATB’s mortgage business based on client needs and business objectives.
  • Achieve and exceed sales objectives established by ATB.
  • Develop and maintain productive relations with Realtors, Builders and Centers of Influence.
  • Establish strong working relations with Regional Vice Presidents, Branch Managers and Relationship Managers.
  • Maintain communication with branches to hand off new clients positively.

About the Role

As ATB’s next Mortgage Specialist you will help Albertans turn the dream of home ownership into a simple reality. This role provides you with the freedom of being an entrepreneur while being able to rely on the expertise and stability of working for one of Alberta’s largest financial institutions. After being assigned a territory, it will be your mission to grow ATB’s mortgage business in that market. You will meet with clients, realtors and builders with the goal to make ATB the financial provider of choice in the minds of Albertans.

With a 100% commission, it means you get out as much as you put in. And, we’ve got you covered with a stable salary for the first 5 months!.

Additional Information

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid (1 day on-site per week on average). This schedule is flexible and subject to change based on business and operational needs.
  • This role is based out of the Calgary area.
Accountabilities

As ATB’s next Mortgage Specialist, you will:

  • Grow ATB’s mortgage business based upon client needs and business objectives.
  • Achieve and exceed sales objectives established by ATB.
  • Develop and maintain productive business relations with stakeholders in the home industry, including Realtors, Builders and Centers of Influence.
  • Establish strong working relations with internal stakeholders, including Regional Vice Presidents, Branch Managers and Relationship Managers.
  • Maintain communication with branches to hand off new clients in a positive and seamless manner.
  • Work in a collaborative manner within the Mortgage Development Sales team to ensure prompt and attentive service to every client.
  • Prepare quality applications for credit and recommend approval of mortgage applications.
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting of sales activities.
  • Deliver a positive client experience while seeking feedback to find opportunities to improve the overall client experience.
