Responsibilities
- Cultivate, grow, and manage relationships with a network of client referral sources and new inquiries to generate sales opportunities for new mortgage loans and increase BMO's market share in home financing.
- Identify sales opportunities and refer them to colleagues as appropriate.
- Design and implement effective marketing and sales programs to boost organizational results.
- Proactively communicate with client referral sources and new inquiries from our national partnerships and establish local partnerships for discussions on home financing solutions.
- Assist in implementing targeted marketing programs, promotions, and initiatives.
- Actively seek cross-selling and upselling opportunities to help the branch meet its sales and profitability goals.
- Support the implementation of marketing programs, promotions, and initiatives.
- Expand your network by obtaining referrals and new inquiries from existing contacts.
- Enhance BMO's presence in the community by participating in trade shows, conferences, and related activities.
- Act in the best interest of the client during activities related to applications and processing.
- Perform necessary onboarding activities as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service that builds trust through expertise and tailored support.
- Guide clients throughout the mortgage application and processing activities.
- Partner with branch teams for proper client handover and to identify clients needing other banking products.
- Resolve or escalate issues to ensure client expectations are met and funds are disbursed timely.
- Offer friendly, courteous, and professional service, responding to inquiries and identifying client needs for banking products, and referring appropriately.
- Stay informed about client needs, industry trends, best practices, regulatory requirements, and policies related to products and services.
- Handle customer service issues within established parameters and escalate complex issues.
- Develop solutions and provide recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Support strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in setting business priorities and implementing sector or group strategies.
- Conduct independent analysis and assessments to resolve strategic issues.
- Coordinate with BMO teams and clients to ensure home financing requests are processed satisfactorily.
- Document updates in BMO's internal systems to ensure all employees have access to current information.
- Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Gather data and prepare reports and dashboards.
- Provide feedback on operational planning and implementation.
- Perform routine tasks such as processing service requests, transactions, and inquiries.
- Classify information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with third parties to establish relationships that generate referrals and new mortgage inquiries.
- Execute all transactions according to guidelines and requirements to maintain operational integrity.
- Possibly focus on a specific sector or group.
- Think creatively and propose new solutions.
- Use judgment to identify and resolve problems within established limits.
- Work independently.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- Generally three to five years of relevant professional experience with post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- For roles involving lending qualifications, credit qualifications and related skills as per credit portfolio requirements and standards.
- Deep knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Expertise in self-management, teamwork, personal loans, and relationship management.
- Functional knowledge of retail banking services, investments, trust services, small business and corporate loans, and cash management.
- Extensive knowledge of the real estate sector and mortgage market.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Specialized knowledge acquired through education or work experience.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

Compensation
Type of remuneration: Commissions

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure. Part-time salaries are prorated. For commission roles, the mentioned salary target is for the first year.
