Responsibilities
  1. Cultivate, grow, and manage relationships with sources of client referrals and new requests to generate mortgage sales opportunities and increase BMO's market share in home financing.
  2. Identify sales opportunities and recommend them to colleagues if applicable.
  3. Design and implement effective marketing and sales programs to boost organizational results.
  4. Proactively communicate with sources of client referrals and new requests identified through national partnerships and establish local partnerships for financing consultations.
  5. Support the implementation of targeted marketing programs, promotions, and initiatives.
  6. Actively seek cross-selling and upselling opportunities to meet branch sales and profitability goals.
  7. Expand your network by obtaining referrals and new requests from existing relationships.
  8. Increase the bank's presence in the community by participating in trade fairs, conferences, and related activities.
  9. Act in the best interest of the client during activities related to loan requests and processing.
  10. Perform necessary integration activities as needed.
  11. Offer exceptional customer service to build trust through expertise and tailored support.
  12. Guide clients through mortgage application and processing activities.
  13. Establish partnerships with branch teams for client handovers and to identify clients needing other banking products.
  14. Resolve or escalate issues to ensure client expectations are met and funds are disbursed promptly.
  15. Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service, responding to inquiries and identifying client needs for banking products.
  16. Stay informed about client needs, industry trends, best practices, regulatory requirements, and policies.
  17. Handle customer service issues within established parameters and escalate complex issues.
  18. Develop solutions and recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  19. Support strategic initiatives collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  20. Participate in setting business priorities and strategic planning.
  21. Conduct independent analyses and evaluations to resolve strategic issues.
  22. Coordinate with various BMO teams and clients to ensure satisfactory processing of home financing requests.
  23. Document updates in BMO’s internal systems for access by all employees regarding opportunities, transactions, and ongoing issues.
  24. Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  25. Gather data and prepare reports and dashboards.
  26. Provide feedback on operational planning and implementation.
  27. Perform routine tasks such as processing requests, transactions, and inquiries, adhering to service level agreements.
  28. Classify information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  29. Collaborate with third parties to establish strong relationships that generate referrals and new mortgage requests.
  30. Execute transactions according to guidelines and requirements to maintain operational integrity.
  31. Possibly focus on a specific business sector or group.
  32. Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  33. Use judgment to identify, analyze, and resolve problems within established limits.
  34. Work independently as a general rule.
  35. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  1. Typically three to five years of relevant professional experience with post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. For roles involving lending qualifications, credit qualifications, and related skills as per credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  3. Deep knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
  4. Strong interpersonal, sales, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  5. Expertise in self-management, teamwork, personal loans, and relationship management.
  6. Functional knowledge of retail banking services, investments, trust services, small business and corporate loans, and cash management.
  7. Very good knowledge of the real estate sector and mortgage market.
  8. Strong negotiation skills.
  9. Specialized knowledge acquired through education or work experience.
  10. Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  11. Collaborative skills and teamwork skills — advanced level.
  12. Analytical and problem-solving skills — advanced level.
  13. Influence skills — advanced level.
Compensation

Type of remuneration: Commissions

The above represents BMO Financial Group's salary range and type.

Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Part-time salaries are prorated based on hours worked. For commission roles, the mentioned salary target is for the first year.

Total compensation may include performance bonuses, discretionary bonuses, and other benefits and rewards. BMO also offers health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
