First National Financial LP in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Mortgage Funder to instruct, advance and close mortgage files. This full-time role reports to the Manager, Residential Underwriting (Excalibur) and offers a competitive compensation package.

You will verify solicitor entitlement, prepare packages, coordinate with mortgage accounting, ensure closing readiness, and maintain AML/compliance standards while delivering timely funding.

Responsibilities

• Check entitlement of solicitor with law society.
• Verify information accuracy and correct lender.
• Prepare and send instructional package to solicitor with documents.
• Follow up with solicitor before closing.
• Notify solicitor that funds can be released.
• Ensure all conditions are met and file is complete on closing day.
• Review solicitor mortgage documents for terms and compliance.
• Coordinate with mortgage accounting to release funds timely.
• Respond to inquiries within established turnaround times.
• Adhere to AML and QA policies.

Reporting To: Manager, Residential Underwriting (Excalibur)

Full-Time/Part- Time: Full-time

Salary Range: $45,000-$60,000

Posting Date: October 7, 2026

Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Grade: 6.7

The Opportunity

The Mortgage Funder is responsible for instructing, advancing and closing mortgage files.

How you will contribute

• Check with law society for entitlement of solicitor
• Check information to ensure accuracy, i.e. correct lender
• Prepare and send applicable instructional package to solicitor along with relevant documents
• Follow up with solicitor prior to closing
• Contact solicitor to advise that funds can be released
• Ensure that all conditions have been met, all documentation has been received and that file is complete on the day of closing
• Review solicitor mortgage documentation to ensure it corresponds to the terms of the commitment and is in compliance with established regulatory and company guidelines and policies
• Coordinate with mortgage accounting for the release of mortgage funds on a timely basis
• Respond to all inquiries within the established turnaround times
• Adhere to policy/procedures to ensure AML and Quality Assurance requirements are met
