Summary of Position

The ideal candidate will assist lawyers with litigation matters, focusing on mortgage enforcement and personal loans collections.

Work Includes, But Is Not Limited To

• Management of mortgage enforcement process from start to finish.
• Communicating with debtors, lenders, and property managers for collection purposes.
• Drafting documents and reports.
• Assembling motion records, affidavits, and other court documents.
• Arranging service of documents.
• Court filing.
• Managing files and preparing documents in ACL software.
• Coordinating Bring Forwards (BFs).
• Performing other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• 2-4 years of litigation, law clerk, or legal assistant experience; comparable office or business experience may be considered.
• Experience in residential real estate files, mortgage enforcement, personal loans collection, or power of sale process is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure is an asset.
• Familiarity with ACL Automated Civil Litigation software is an asset.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.
• Attention to detail, time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Professional, responsive, and positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain accurate filing systems and basic databases.
