Job summary

Banff Park Lodge Collection is seeking a Cafe Attendant to craft espresso beverages, serve guests, and support the cafe's daily operations in Banff. You will prepare drinks, assist with food items, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include cash handling, POS transactions, maintaining cleanliness, and restocking supplies. This role is based on-site at our Banff location, with emphasis on accuracy and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages following recipes.
• Maintain speed, consistency, and quality of service during peak hours.

• Prepare and package fresh food items (sandwiches, pastries, grab-and-go).
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and product handling standards.
• Ensure display items are fresh and well-presented.
• Process guest transactions accurately using the POS.
• Balance cash drawers at end of shift.
• Greet guests warmly and offer menu recommendations.
• Keep prep stations and dining area clean and organized.

Welcome! Banff Park Lodge Collection operates 3 hotel properties - Banff Park Lodge, Bow View Lodge, and Peaks Hotel & Suites. We also operate 2 restaurants - La Terrazza and Crave Mountain Grill. Staff and guests enjoy our ideal location, close to lively downtown Banff on one side and the peaceful Bow River pathway on the other.

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Barista Duties - Craft a full menu of espresso-based hot and cold beverages following established recipes, quality standards, and milk-steaming techniques.
• Maintain speed, consistency, and quality of service during peak hours.
• Monitor beverage quality and communicate any equipment or product concerns to a supervisor.
• Food Preparation - Prepare and package fresh food items, including sandwiches, pastries, and grab-and-go offerings.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and product handling standards.
• Ensure display items are fresh, well-presented, and properly rotated.
• Cash Handling and POS -
• Accurately process guest transactions, including cash, credit, debit, and room charges.
• Operate the Simphony POS system with accuracy and professionalism.
• Maintain balanced cash drawers at the end of each shift.
• Customer Service - Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming cafe experience.
• Answer questions about menu offerings and provide recommendations when needed.
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns professionally.
• Cafe Cleaning and Maintenance -
• Maintain clean prep stations, dining tables, and display counters throughout the shift.
• Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory rotation as needed.
