Job summary

QUANTEAM - North America, Montreal-based, is seeking a Java Software Developer for a client in banking. You will design, implement, and maintain applications using Java, Angular, and Spring Boot within an Agile framework.

You will work with Business Analysts and global teams to gather requirements, deliver high-quality code, and support deployment and monitoring. Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub/Jenkins), Docker, and Kubernetes is expected; English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Software Developer role.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot development.
• Experience with Angular development.
• Experience working with REST APIs and SQL databases.
• Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work with complex information systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented Agile environment.
• English fluency, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, estimate, and participate in the development of user stories within the Equity Finance Trading Systems domain.
• Design and implement technical solutions while evaluating tactical and strategic approaches, including delivery timelines and impacts.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, stakeholders, and end users to gather requirements and obtain approvals.
• Develop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Angular, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
• Produce high-quality code, deployment plans, and technical documentation in compliance with established development standards.
• Coordinate testing activities with end users, including test planning, execution, documentation of results, and signoff management.
• Participate in major software implementations, quarterly platform upgrades, and new functionality deployments.
• Develop and maintain internal reports, data extracts, and business requests.
• Contribute to application support, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with global teams in an Agile environment to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
