Job summary

London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Molecular Genetics laboratory. The MLT works under the supervision of the Manager for the Molecular Diagnostics Program and collaborates with Senior MLTs to provide genetic testing services to Ontario and beyond.

As part of PaLM, you will support a multidisciplinary team and contribute to diagnostics, prognosis, and directing treatment for patients.

Qualifications

• Current registration or eligibility as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Certification with CSMLS or equivalent.
• Recent work experience with clinical genetic technologies including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR (Real Time and Conventional), MLPA, Nucleic Acid Sequencing, VNTR analysis, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Robotic Sample Handling, in silico analysis of nucleic acids.
• Ability to work 24/7 shifts.
• Demonstrated accuracy and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within healthcare teams.
