Job summary

Hamilton Health Sciences' Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is seeking a Microbiology Technologist to join our team. Under supervision, you will process specimens, follow policies, and help ensure accurate gram-stain interpretation and reporting.

The role requires current CMLTO registration, completion of an accredited MLT program, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Weekend/evening shifts are included, with opportunities to contribute to safety and quality

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Successful completion of an accredited MLT program.
• Recent experience in Microbiology would be an asset.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem- solving skills.
• Membership in CSMLS.

The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is a collaborative program funded and operated jointly by the Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Hospital. The Program is committed to change and innovation, through education, service and research, to bring the highest quality science into health care for the benefit of the community, and to participate in the clinical application and interpretation of the science.

Under general supervision and direction, the technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. Duties include: processing specimens for Microbiology as per established policies and procedures; interpretation and reporting of gram-stained.
