Job summary

Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform quality testing within Immunohaematology, Chemistry and Haematology. You will work under established policies, ensuring safety, accuracy and timely reporting of results.

The successful candidate will have an approved MLT program, current CMLTO registration, and experience with clinical lab automation and LIS/HIS systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this team-based role in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology/Science program.
• Current MLT registration with CMLTO.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred (Immunohaematology, Chemistry, Haematology).
• Experience with automation and instrumentation listed (Ortho ProVue, Roche MPA, Roche Cobas, Sysmex XN, DI-60, CS2500) preferred.
• Experience with crossmatch, G&S, antibody investigation, RM and blood cell morphology preferred.
• Experience with SOFT LIS, Cerner PowerChart HIS and Paradigm document control preferred.
• Quality assurance/management experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate under pressure with variable workload.
• Demonstrated attendance, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Willingness for ongoing professional growth and teamwork.

Overview

Provide quality testing in the Laboratory (Immunohaematology, Chemistry, and Haematology) by observing the highest standards according to established policies, processes and procedures.

Education

• Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology / Science Program.
• Current MLT registration with CMLTO.

Qualifications

Current Laboratory (Immunohaematology Chemistry, Haematology,) experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• Current experience with laboratory automation and instrumentation including Ortho ProVue, Roche MPA, Roche Cobas, Sysmex XN, DI-60, CS2500 preferred.
• Current Laboratory experience with crossmatch, G&S, antibody investigation, R&M, and blood cell morphology preferred.
• Current experience with SOFT LIS, Cerner Power Chart HIS and Paradigm document control program preferred.
• Experience with quality assurance and quality management preferred.
• Ability to communicate and function under pressure with variable workload.
• Good attendance and work record.
