TD in Toronto is seeking a candidate to join the Market Risk Stress Testing group within Model Development. The role will analyze, develop, maintain and execute models for projecting market risk variables used in internal and regulatory stress tests (DFAST, EWST, MST).

You will document methodologies, collaborate with governance and cross‑functional partners, and contribute to TD's risk framework while delivering timely model deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in quantitative finance and/or related quantitative field.
  • Strong analytical background in quantitative finance and statistical modeling.
  • Knowledge of valuation of financial derivatives and market risk modeling approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, maintain and execute models for projecting market risk variables for internal and regulatory stress tests.
  • Execute Stress Testing models during stress testing cycles and maintain current model suite.
  • Document modeling methodologies in technical reports and ensure governance and transparency.
  • Collaborate with Model Validation, Enterprise Market Risk Control, TD Securities Technology and other stress testing groups.
  • Provide commentary on pricing and stress testing models used by TD.

We interact with various stakeholders in the bank to achieve our mandate.Job Description:We are looking for a strong candidate to join the Market Risk Stress Testing group. The successful candidate will analyze, develop, maintain and execute models and methodologies for projecting financial variables for internal and regulatory stress tests (DFAST, EWST, MST), and will also contribute to other development work to support our stakeholders.Customer and Shareholder Accountabilities:Research, develop, and implement new and improved modeling methodologies to project market risk variables required by the different Stress Testing programs.Execute Stress Testing models during the stress testing cycles.Maintain the current suite of models in accordance with established model lifecycle requirements.Research and develop models and code solutions to support our stakeholders.Document modeling methodologies in technical reports in a transparent and effective manner.Liaise with other business partners (Model Validation, Enterprise Market Risk Control, TD Securities Technology, TD Economics, and various Stress Testing groups across the bank) to ensure timely delivery of new models/model methodologies, test the implementation of models in the bank's risk systems, and investigate/resolve modeling issues.Analyze and provide commentary on pricing and stress testing models currently employed by TD.Adhere to the governance policies and procedures relevant to the team.Employee/Team Accountabilities:Continuously enhance knowledge / expertise in own area and keep current on emerging trends /developments and grow knowledge of the business, analytical tools and techniques.Prioritize and manage own workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines.Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency.Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program and project managers.Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.Communicate clearly and effectively with leadership and other stakeholders, including on complex technical subjects and model methodologies.Job Requirements:Graduate degree in quantitative finance and/or other relevant quantitative field.Strong analytical background in quantitative finance and statistical modeling gained through practical experience and/or academic studies.Knowledge of the valuation of financial derivatives and market risk modeling approaches for various asset classes (e.g. Rates, Credit, EQ, FX, etc.).Programming skills in R and Python; C ++ also an asset.Strong team member with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and independently when required.Good technical writing and verbal communication skills.Who We Are:TD is one of the world's leading global financial institutions and is the fifth largest bank in North America by branches/stores.
