**Position Overview:**

Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking Modelers! The role involves creating and building computer-generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs. Responsibilities include:

- Preparing and building models for characters and stand-ins for layout.

- Developing prop elements for effects.

- Creating environmental sets and structures.

- Focusing on developing technical drawings for model productions.

- Writing, maintaining, and running Makefiles, scripts, and model databases.

- Being accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.

- Developing models for multiple types of productions from simple to moderately difficult.



**Key Responsibilities:**

- Accountable for meeting schedules and show deadlines.

- Participating in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.

- Interacting with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks.

- Deciphering and following through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback.

- Working efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine various design solutions.

**Qualifications:**

- Knowledge of applicable software packages including Maya, Mudbox/ZBrush, 3D Coat/Topogun/Paraform.

- Linux and scripting ability in relevant languages including MEL, Perl, and Python is a plus.

- Most desired: 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate; however, a minimal requirement of 2-3 years of relevant experience may be accepted.



**Salary Information:**

- The anticipated base salary for an Associate position is $26.44 to $36.32/hr.

- For an Intermediate position, the salary ranges from $32.02 to $43.99/hr.

- Benefits are per company policy, which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, sick and vacation leave, and standard increases as applicable.

- The actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and, if applicable, the location of the position.
