Job summary

Colonial Group in Montreal is seeking a Mobile Unit Technician to join our on-the-road service team. If you enjoy being on the road, meeting people, solving mechanical challenges, this role suits you. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in heavy‑duty truck or heavy equipment mechanics.
• Excellent driving record; Class 3 license required (Class 1 an asset).
• Knowledge of Cummins or PACCAR engines (asset).
• Electrical diagnostics experience (asset).
• Ability to understand English.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Versatile, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform the work described in the service call.
• Determine the cause of any defects and carry out the necessary repairs.
• Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain the required parts.
• Keep and label parts when the work is covered under warranty or when requested by the customer.
• Communicate with Service Advisors when additional work is required, when requested repairs are not necessary, or when repairs cannot be completed on the road or within the expected timeframe.
• Document all work performed on the repair order.
• Perform a road test of the vehicle, when necessary.
