Job summary

Westman Communications Group in Brandon, MB is seeking a casual Mobile Production Assistant to join our Community Programming team. You will help create WCG TV content through studio and mobile production, assist with setup and capture for multi-camera productions, and operate camcorders for on-site events.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum Grade 12, with additional university/college studies in Interactive Media Arts considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• In progress of completing (or full completion) of a university/college degree or diploma in Interactive Media Arts is considered an asset.
• Experience in television production equipment, basic television production techniques, digital editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, or creating graphics with Adobe Photoshop is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of WCG tv content through studio and mobile production.
• Assist with the set-up and capturing of content for multi-camera productions.
• Set-up and operate camcorder for public events requiring single-camera production.
• Manage the production of basic evening and weekend studio productions.
• Perform general video editing of content.
• Assist in the scheduling of programs on WCG tv and creating metadata for VOD content.
• Ensure all equipment is handled, returned, checked in, and stored appropriately.
• Assist with on-site training of volunteers.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent


• In the progress of completing (or full completion) of a university/college degree or diploma in Interactive Media Arts of a related field is considered an asset. Equivalency in work experience or self-study may be considered.


• Experience in television production equipment, basic television production techniques, digital editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, or creating graphics with Adobe Photoshop is considered an asset.


• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel.


• Must be available for day, evening, and weekend work.


• Must be able to carry up to 75 lbs.
