Job summary

Coeur Mining is recruiting a Mobile Maintenance Lubrication Technician for the New Afton mine near Kamloops, BC. The role supports underground equipment lubrication and maintenance, reporting to Mobile Maintenance Supervisors, with a 7-on, 7-off, 11-hour shift pattern.

Qualified candidates hold a Red Seal in a related mobile equipment field, have heavy equipment experience, and demonstrate safety leadership.

Qualifications

• Red Seal endorsed trades certificate in a mobile equipment maintenance discipline.
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Industrial experience, preferably in mining.
• Demonstrated leadership in safety.
• Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to learn new skills.
• Underground mining equipment experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs safely using stop and correct behaviors.
• Lubrication upkeep of underground mobile mining equipment.
• Perform repairs, troubleshooting, adjustments, overhauls, and maintenance on mobile mining equipment.
• Work in an underground mining environment.
• Operate lubricant transport vehicles.
• Organize lubricants and lube routes.
• Monitor equipment condition and report to Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Provide input on equipment maintenance strategy and improvements.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

New Afton

Situated 10 kilometres west of Kamloops, British Columbia, the New Afton mine is an underground gold and copper producing site.

About the Role

Schedule: 7 on, 7 off, 11‑hour shifts, alternating days and nights

Position Reports To: Mobile Maintenance Supervisors

Position Overview

The Mobile Maintenance Lube Technicians provide support to Mine Operations by troubleshooting and performing repairs, along with ensuring lubrication upkeep of underground equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct all repairs in a safe and effective manner employing stop and correct behaviors
• Lubrication upkeep of underground mobile mining equipment
• Perform repairs, troubleshooting, adjustments, overhauls, and maintenance on mobile mining equipment, mainly underground and focusing on production equipment, but equipment may vary depending on operational needs.
• Working in an underground mining environment
• Operation of lubricant transport vehicles
• Organization of lubricants and lube routes
• Monitor equipment condition and report thoroughly to Supervisor
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both written and verbally
• Provide input on equipment maintenance strategy and improvement opportunities
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Red Seal endorsed trades certificate in a discipline related to mobile equipment maintenance (i.e. Automotive Mechanic, Truck & Transport Mechanic, Marine Technician, etc.)
• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance
• Industrial experience, preferably in mining
• Demonstrated leadership in safety
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Demonstrate a strong drive to learn new skills
• Possess a willingness to take on progressively more responsibilities as they grow and develop with the company
• Experience with underground mining equipment is considered an asset

Other Requirements

Candidates will be required to participate in a comprehensive qualification process, including:

• Completion of pre-placement functional screen
• Provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada
• Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements

Compensation

The anticipated salary for this position will be between $95,000 to $115,000. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
