Job summary

Finning is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Alberta Mobile Team. You will diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment in the field, perform preventative maintenance, and travel to customer sites across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

The role requires an interprovincial HET certification, a valid driver’s license, and 3+ years of field truck experience. We offer full-time permanent employment, medical benefits, a share purchase plan, pension, and CAT certified training to support skill

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson HET certification required.
• 3+ years of field truck experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Caterpillar experience is an asset.
• Willingness to participate in additional training and certifications.
• Self-motivated, computer literate, safety oriented with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Field diagnosis and running repairs on Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment in field settings.
• Respond to customer needs promptly to ensure value of work performed.
• Diagnose faults using testing equipment to determine repair scope.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily for service documentation.
• Prepare technical documentation and interact with customers, sales support, and Finning team.
