Job summary

Fraser-Valley Building Supplies-1 is seeking a Class 3 Driver and Mobile Crane Operator to deliver lumber and materials to job sites, operating a mobile crane to unload and place items safely. You will assess site conditions, make independent safety decisions, and communicate effectively with customers and the yard team.

The role requires a self-directed problem solver with a strong safety mindset, flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and overtime, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds in

Qualifications

• Valid BC Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Mobile crane operator certification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience operating a mobile crane safely on a job site.
• Strong knowledge of load securement practices and transportation regulations.
• Confident, self-directed problem solver who can make good decisions independently when on the road.
• Collaborative communicator who works well with yard staff, dispatch, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lumber, building materials, and other products to customer job sites in a safe and timely manner.
• Operate a mobile crane to unload and place materials at delivery sites.
• Assess job site conditions on arrival and make sound, independent decisions about safe crane placement and material handling.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with regulations and company standards.
• Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport.
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site and represent the company with a can-do attitude.
• Coordinate with the yard team before departure to confirm orders are accurate and loaded correctly.
• Keep dispatch and the team informed of progress, site issues, or order discrepancies on the road.
• Complete delivery documentation and paperwork accurately.
• Report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Work in compliance with WorkSafeBC Standards and provincial regulations.
• Complete any additional duties as required by the operations team.
