Job summary

Amii invites applications for a 12-month Residency, with the potential to join Fillip Fleet thereafter, contingent on client needs. You will report to an Amii Scientist and work with a cross-disciplinary team to deliver real-world ML applications.

You will explore multi-agent NL systems, grounded retrieval, and secure MCP-based write operations, while being mentored by leading AI researchers.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Computer Science (or related graduate degree) MSc. or PhD with specialization in NLP, ML, LLMs, or Applied AI.
• Experience with LLM-based agents, tool use/function calling, structured output generation, or retrieval-augmented systems.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face, Transformers) and SQL experience.
• Familiarity with linux, Git, and clean code practices.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate a multi-agent natural language system translating business intent into policy changes across the client platform.
• Develop grounded entity resolution and retrieval components mapping references to drivers, vehicles, and cards.
• Design a typed policy representation and simulate proposed changes against historical data.
• Build evaluation infrastructure for agentic systems including benchmarks and tests.
• Implement secure tool interfaces using MCP with multi-tenant data isolation and auditability.
• Conduct applied research in LLM agent architectures and reliability engineering.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop MVPs and client-focused solutions.
• Attend regular client meetings and contribute to progress reports.
