Job summary

BURNCO is hiring Mixer Drivers for our Central Alberta Ready Mix operation in Red Deer, Alberta. We are seeking energetic, dependable team members with good communication and leadership skills to drive our well-maintained mixer trucks and contribute to a safe, productive workplace.

You will learn safety protocols, operate trucks in urban sites, perform routine maintenance, and help keep sites clean and hazard-free. Some weekend work and pre-employment testing may be required.

Qualifications

• Safe driving record required.
• Class 1 or 3 CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Experience driving concrete mixer trucks is an asset.
• Knowledge of concrete products is an asset.
• City driving experience preferred.
• Ability to drive manual transmission is an asset.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Must pass pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety protocols to perform work safely.
• Operate a Ready-Mix Truck in urban areas and on tight sites.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Keep plant locations clean and hazard-free.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Be Doing

• Learn our company safety protocol in order to execute work safely.
• Operate a Ready-Mix Truck in urban areas and tight construction sites.
• Routine equipment maintenance.
• Contribute to keeping locations in and around the plant clean and hazardous free.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reality of the Job

• You might work long hours some days depending on the customer's project requirements.
• You will be expected to work Saturdays during peak season, if required.
• You will be maneuvering the trucks in sometimes very tight construction areas.
• Option of Joining General Teamsters Union Local 362.

What We Need from You

• Safe Driver Record.
• Class 1 or 3 CDL (with air brake endorsement).
• Concrete Mixer Truck driving experience an asset.
• An understanding of concrete products an asset.
• City driving experience.
• The ability to drive manual transmission is an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and be available on short notice.
• Ability to successfully pass our pre-employment testing.
