Job summary

BHP Potash – Jansen is recruiting for permanent mining Trade and Operations Supervisors at the Jansen Mine Site in Leroy, SK. The role supports seven days on, seven days off and includes relocation assistance and onsite camp options for non-locals.

We seek leaders with Red Seal certification, proven ability to manage teams and oversee projects, and a strong safety mindset ready to contribute to a large-scale potash project with long-term career potential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience leading a team or training experience is recommended.
• Red Seal Certification (Trade roles).
• Demonstrated experience in managing teams and overseeing projects.
• Aptitude for building and maintaining strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational activities to enable safe, continuous operations.
• Ensure safe, quality work execution of trades and contractors.
• Promote compliance with work instructions and procedures.
• Drive business improvement through performance measurement.
• Translate objectives into plans and report progress to enable strategy delivery.
• Identify risks and use the risk management framework to support safe outcomes.
• Conduct routine safety meetings to prepare for workload.
• Evaluate safety and operations and drive changes to maximise safety, cost and volume.
• Embed practices that allow teams to identify improvements and detect deviations.

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and islocatedapproximately 140kilometerseast of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off. For those not living locally, BHP provides relocationassistanceto the local Jansen area. Alternatively, you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts.

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.

About the Role

In this role you will:

• Supervise operational activities to enable the delivery of continuous safe operations.
• Ensure safe, quality work execution of trades and contractors.
• Promotes compliance of work instruction and operational procedures.
• Drive business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance.
• Translate corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
• Identify and assess risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
• Conduct routine operational and safety meetings to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload.
• Evaluate safety and operational performance and drives changes to maximise safety, cost and volume performance through processes, equipment and technology initiatives.
• Embed practices/tools that enable teams to proactively identify improvement opportunities and detect deviations within daily mining and production activities across a site.
