Giffen Consulting Ltd. is seeking Structural Design Contractors to support our mining and heavy industrial engineering team in Canada.

The role focuses on structural design and drafting, 3D modeling, and collaboration with civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. Applicants should hold a Diploma in Structural Engineering Technology and bring 7+ years of experience on mining or heavy industrial projects, familiarity with Revit, Advanced Steel and RISA, and knowledge of industry codes.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Structural Engineering Technology or equivalent from an accredited college.
• 7+ years of progressive experience as a Structural Designer on mining/heavy industrial projects.
• Familiar with greenfield and brownfield projects and BIM/analysis tools.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Providing structural design and drafting support.
• Develop 3D models using Advanced Steel and integration into RISA.
• Prepare drawings for reinforced concrete and structural steel using Advanced Steel.
• Analyze designs and adhere to client specifications and guidelines.
• Interpret complex drawings with multiple disciplines and interfaces.
• Prepare material take-offs and review project documents for quality.
• Provide input on tendering, contracts, schedules, and budgets.
• Write and review technical reports, specifications, and construction specs.
• Collaborate with vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
