Job summary

SMS Equipment Inc. seeks a Site Superintendent in Elkford, BC to lead a mining service team of about 12 supervisors and 130 trades. You will coordinate shop and field service, support customer needs, and drive safety, quality and cost performance on site.

You will develop leaders, manage schedules, and build strong customer relationships while guiding continuous improvement and compliance with policies and standards. The role is fixed on-site with a 14 days on/14 days off schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a qualified journeyperson in a relevant trade.
• 3+ years of leadership experience at lead hand/supervisor level or higher.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.
• Ability to set priorities, schedule work, and communicate goals.
• Strong safety knowledge and commitment to safe work practices.
• Experience managing costs, budgets, resources, or operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors for a large skilled trades workforce.
• Promote safety policies, environmental controls, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Organize shop and field service work to meet customer commitments and priorities.
• Set priorities, maintain schedules, allocate resources, and monitor performance.
• Build relationships with customers, employees, leadership, manufacturers, and partners.
• Drive continuous improvement by improving workflows and reducing waste and defects.
• Monitor performance indicators and take appropriate action within scope.
• Participate in workforce planning, recruitment, and employee development.
