Job summary

Windsor Salt Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer at the Ojibway Mine in Windsor, ON. You will oversee contractors in underground mining and surface milling, performing engineering work and cost estimating for capital requests to maintain plant operations.

Responsibilities include leading safety and regulatory compliance, coordinating project scope and budgets, and ensuring on-time, within-budget project delivery while improving equipment reliability and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; Professional Engineering designation is preferred.
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to concrete problems and opportunities.
• Ability to plan and carry out project assignments.
• Three to five years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• SAP and AutoCAD experience are required.
• Self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks and working in a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; leadership abilities.
• Diversity of perspectives respected; collaborative problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and execution for capital and sustaining engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
• Maintain safety leadership and regulatory compliance across mine and milling operations.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and cost forecasts; control project costs and financial reporting.
• Coordinate procurement, contractor oversight, and documentation to ensure timely completion.
• Perform technical investigations and support for major equipment repairs and commissioning activities.
• Provide engineering support to Production and Maintenance for reliability and asset performance.
