Job summary

Windsor Salt’s Ojibway Mine in Windsor, Ontario, seeks Journeyman Machine Repairpersons. You will maintain stationary and mobile mining equipment across surface and underground sites, rotating across days, afternoons, and nights.

A completed Skilled Trades Ontario program (421A/310T) is required, with union membership upon hire, and a background/medical exam after offer. Applicants must show strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting, welding, and diesel engine repair skills, with experience

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a mechanic role (preferred).
• Ability to perform troubleshooting on heavy equipment.
• Familiar with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate mining equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete inspection sheets, timecards and work orders.
• Read schematics and perform repairs on stationary and mobile equipment.
• Support hoist, shaft work and lubrication tasks.
• Train less experienced staff and maintain a clean workplace.
